Multiple File Uploads / Drag & Drop Uploads

The Drag & Drop tool is great for uploading multiple files or for uploading a single large file, as it gives you a progress bar for your upload.

Multiple File Uploads:

- Open the desired ‘Project’ and or ‘Folder
- Choose a Client
- Choose a Project
- You may wish to navigate into an existing ‘Folder’ if available
- Click ‘upload multiple files’ on the small secondary navigation bar
- This link may be available on the ‘New Project Wizard’ for new projects
- Click ‘upload multiple files’ on the small secondary navigation bar
- You may be prompted with an ‘Alert’ box.
- This is warning you that the system uses a JAVA Applet to manage the multiple file uploads, and that the Applet requires a certain version of the JAVA Plugin
- Click ‘Ok’ to proceed
- The JAVA engine will start if present in your web browser. This may take up to 30 secs
- If you do not have the correct version of JAVA, the system will attempt to install it
- If the system attempts to install JAVA, follow the instructions to install
- If you do not have ‘Local Administrator Rights’ the install will fail.
- If the install fails, please ask your IT administrator to install JAVA Plugin 1.4
- Check you have the correct ‘Target Project Folder’
- If you are not in the correct Target folder, you can choose from the drop-down menu another folder in the project. (This will cause the screen to refresh)
- To upload files, you have 2 options:
- “Drag & Drop” multiple files from a location on your file system (Desktop, Folders, Network) on to the ‘Drop Zone’. This area is marked with the words ‘Drag and Drop files here’.
- “Copy & Paste” from a location on your desktop
- CTRL +C to copy on your desktop
- CTRL + V to paste into the “Drop Zone”
- Or “Right Click” in the “Drop Zone” and select “paste”
- As the files upload, you will be presented with a progress bar.
- Depending on the size of the file and the speed of your connection, this may take up to 15 minutes. Typically a 1mb file will take 10 seconds on a corporate network.
- Once uploaded, you will be presented with a list of files and there sizes.
- Choose ‘Email Notification’
- Select the users you wish to receive notification of the upload
- Users who do not have the correct privilege to access the folder will be ‘greyed out’ of the list of users for email notification.
- Click ‘Send Notification’ to complete the upload

We recommend that you upload no more than 20 files in a single ‘Drag and Drop’ operation. However depending on your individual file sizes, you may be able to upload more or less than this.
